There’s so much to see and do in the Library Marketplace!
You’ll want to set aside plenty of time to:
- Visit with exhibitors to get the latest in products, services, titles, authors, and technologies.
- Hear from more than 300 authors and illustrators on eight LIVE stages.
- Meet the Authors and have your favorite books autographed or take selfies at the Meet the Authors Autographing Area.
- Hear from authors who will podcast their creative processes at the Live from the 25 Podcast booth.
- Watch trailers and short films at The Festival of Shorts and films and documentaries at the Now Showing @ ALA Film Program.
- Take part in the Christopher J. Hoy Scholarship Silent Auction. In the Artist Alley, you’ll find donated original artwork available for bidding. A scholarship will be awarded to an individual pursuing a library sciences degree.
- Extend the learning you received in conference sessions in many of the hands-on opportunities.

130+ Author Sessions on 8 Live Stages !
At the Book Buzz Theater, your favorite publishers will entertain and inform you about the “buzz” on their hottest new titles, including fiction and nonfiction for young readers and adults alike.
The Chapter One Stage will feature panels of new and emerging authors with each presentation focusing on a single genre. Hot topics on new issues impacting libraries will be featured.
The Diversity in Publishing Stage features authors from diverse genres and highlights diverse voices across the industry.
The Graphic Novel/Gaming Stage offers the chance to hear from the authors, illustrators, and creators of the hottest games and graphic novels.
The TechTalk Stage is the place to learn about new technologies making their way into libraries, and to discover how technology impacts our work and personal lives.
The Look of Books Stage hosts book and graphic novel contributors from the world of art, illustration, and photography.
Focus on wellness, instructional, fitness, and nutrition with cookbooks that lead to a healthy lifestyle at the ThinkFit @ ALA Health & Fitness Stage.
The PopTop Stage features favorite book genres, including mystery, humor, romance, technology, and travel with readings, discussions, panels, and presentations.
The Fesitval of Shorts offers curated, short films and trailers, allowing you to watch as many upcoming movie and book launches as you like.
The Now Showing @ ALA Film Program features documentaries from the world over from Saturday through Monday.
At the Live From the 25 Podcast Booth you can watch and listen as today’s emerging and well-known authors record a short podcast.
Zines are self-published works created out of passion, not for profit. Make your own or collaborate with others. There's even a raffle to get your library kitted out with a starter zine collection!
A NEW experience at ALA Annual! The Tech Test Pilot Playground gives you hands-on time with robotics, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, and more. Create light-up name tags, draw in 3D, and more!
Get Advanced Release Copies, the pre-published and almost-complete versions of new books that are usually circulated to professional reviewers in advance of print. Fill your tote bags or visit the onsite Post Office to ship these free books back to your home or library.
Meet the Authors & Authors Autographing Area!
From first-time authors to established big names, there will be more than 270 participating authors.
You can Meet the Authors in various booths and the Autographing Area will be located at the end of Aisle 2000. Don't forget your favorite books for autographs and your phone for selfies!
Christopher J. Hoy Scholarship Silent Auction & The Artist Alley
SILENT AUCTION: Be sure to stop by the auction located on the Grand Concourse. Named for a long-time ALA staff member, the annual scholarship is awarded to an individual pursuing a library sciences degree in an ALA-accredited program.
The Artist Alley includes original artworks from all genres by today’s leading artists, illustrators, and creators of comics, games, and graphic novels. These works will be available for bidding in the Silent Auction. Also featured in the Silent Auction are the original vibrant quilts from the Biblioquilters.
