Raise Your Voice

How has book banning impacted you or your community?

Why did you join #UniteAgainstBookBans, and why should others join the fight against book bans? Decision makers in communities across the country need to hear from all of us.

Stop by the ALA Lounge to record a short video message, and be sure to take home some postcards to encourage members of your community to share their stories.

Saturday 10:00 a.m. - noon  and Sunday 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Don’t have time to stop by? You can record your video online!

Banned Books Take Over DC

At this year’s ALA conference, you can show some love for your favorite banned and challenged books by snapping a photo of one of IFRT’S banned book flyers as you explore Washington D.C.

Stop by the ALA Lounge to pick up some of IFRT’s ready-to-go banned book flyers to take with you around the conference and the city – then snap and post your pictures with the tag #BannedBooksDC. We are hoping to see banned books at monuments, restaurants, and museums galore.

Did your favorite banned book not make the list? Don’t worry; here’s a template so you can make your own!

GameRT Guild of Mysteries Mystery Hunt returns.

The GamerRT Mystery Hunt is a series of puzzles, similar to a scavenger hunt and a little like a virtual escape room. On the first day of the conference, we will post a link that will take you to the game. Once you’ve filled out some basic information you can read through the story and click around the various play zones. There will be three zones in total with nine total puzzle clusters to work through.  Solve all the puzzles within a puzzle cluster to unlock a clue, solve all the puzzle clusters and you’ll have all the information you’ll need to unlock the final puzzle.

Find the details and start playing the Mystery Hunt!
